The quick read
Why go
Xin Yonghua is Anping's local night market, open just two nights a week. It is much smaller and far less crowded than Garden, Dadong or Wusheng: wide walkways, clean toilets, pinball, ring toss and rides for children, and the classic snacks you would expect, from scallion pancakes and spicy crispy intestines to fried rice and giant fried squid.
It is not worth crossing Tainan for. But if you are staying in Anping, or have spent the day at Anping Old Street and the fort and want an easy dinner, it fits well. Queue first at Jin Cun for chicken cartilage and giant squid, then pick up a scallion pancake at the entrance. It runs on Thursday and Sunday.

Where to find the top stalls
The market is on the open lot where Junping Road meets Jianping 7th Street (Tainan City Market Administration Office, October 2026). It was the Yonghua Night Market at Yonghua Road and Wenping Road for 14 years and took its new name when it moved here in 2019 (TVBS, 2025). Our sources name stalls but give no stall numbers; the scallion pancake stall is at the entrance, and Nick Kembel mentions an iced herbal tea truck at the back.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.
