Wusheng is the traditionalist's pick, an old-line local market in West Central that predates Tainan's mega-markets and still feels like it. Less English, more regulars, and food priced for the neighborhood rather than the tour bus.

The order here starts with old-style milk tea and stinky tofu hot pot, then candied sweet potato from the Chen family stalls in Row 1. If you have already done Garden on a previous trip and want the version Tainan keeps for itself, this is it.

Where to find the top stalls

Wusheng fills the plaza where Lane 69, Wusheng Road meets Guangxian Street, with free parking beside it. Rows and stalls are numbered. One 2026 visitor suggests starting at the outer first row and working inward.
