Why go
Taitung's tourism night market is downtown Taitung's dinner street three nights a week: one short stretch of Zhengqi Road, a fruit street by day, that fills with stalls on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The order is a grilled-pork gua bao, a bag of A Hong's fried chicken, some Dongshan duck heads and a bowl of tangyuan over brown-sugar shaved ice.
Keep expectations modest. It is small, the food is familiar night market fare, and it does not run early in the week. But it sits near Tiehua Music Village and the transfer station, so it is an easy dinner walk if you are staying in town. On a Sunday, go to Siwei instead.

Where to find the top stalls
The market is one street: Zhengqi Road between Zhongshan Road and Bo'ai Road, about 250 meters, a fruit street by day (Wikipedia). It moved to Nanjing Road Civic Plaza from 8 May 2025 during road works (CTEE) and returned to Zhengqi Road on 11 July 2025 (Wikipedia); an October 2026 guide and Google Maps both show it on Zhengqi Road. Some shops have Zhengqi Road house numbers; for the rest, look for the sign.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.
Tangyuan with brown-sugar shaved ice: Baosang Tangyuan
Look for the sign

Where: Zhengqi Road No. 189. Tangyuan, crispy rice balls and shaved ice with brown-sugar syrup.

Look for the sign
阿鋐炸雞
Where: Zhengqi Road No. 163. A set with wings, nuggets, fries, a drumstick and a drink was NT$150 in October 2026 (bunnyann). TVBS notes long queues at mealtimes.
Hours: 11:00 to 23:00, closed Tuesday (bunnyann, 2026; yam, 2025).

Look for the sign

Where: At the far end of the market (TVBS). No source gives a house number, so look for the sign. Grilled pork with a fried egg in a steamed bun, with Hakka salted pork and mixed versions (yam, 2025).

Look for the sign
何記東山鴨頭
Where: On Zhengqi Road. No source gives a house number, so look for the sign. bunnyann (2026), which writes 何家, calls it the biggest of several duck-head stalls on the street. Duck heads, duck wings, pork intestine and tempura.
