The quick read
Why go
Siwei is Taitung City's Sunday night out: a big market, for now at the end of Siwei Road beside the TAITUNG letter landmark while its usual site on Lane 464 is under construction, where families come for fried chicken, grilled-pork gua bao and sweet potato balls, then stay for the inflatable castle, balloon shooting and pinball.
It runs on Sunday only and sits away from the downtown bus routes, so you will want a car, scooter or taxi. Several vendors also work the Zhengqi Road market, so if you have already been there earlier in the week, Siwei is much of the same food in a bigger setting.

Where to find the top stalls
Taitung Bao News reported in July 2026 that the market had moved for now to the end of Siwei Road, beside the TAITUNG letter landmark, because of construction at its usual site on Lane 464, Siwei Road Section 1, near Zhonghua Bridge. When we checked on 2026-10-31, Google Maps also placed it by the landmark. No source says when it will move back, so check the location before you go. Recent guides name stalls but give no stall numbers or positions, and some stalls are food trucks that turn up only some weeks, so look for the signs.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.
