Why go
Zhongxiao Road is a food street, full stop. No games, no clothing racks, just an evening roadside strip near Taichung Station where the point is dinner: bamboo-tube rice, barbecue, oyster vermicelli, sugarcane juice. If you are staying near the station, this is your easy local night.
Know what you are walking into: the road stays open to cars and scooters while you eat, and English signage is thin. Treat it like choosing a couple of restaurants rather than touring an attraction, and it delivers.

Where to find the top stalls
A street market on Zhongxiao Road between Taichung Road and Guoguang Road, with stalls on both sides and traffic in the middle. It starts after the Third Market closes, and most vendors open after 16:00. Many stalls have Zhongxiao Road house numbers.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.
