The quick read
Why go
Fengjia is not really a night market. It is a small city of food that happens to assemble around a university every single evening, and it is the reason many people put Taichung on their itinerary at all. The variety is absurd: entire streets of stalls, plus shops, games, electronics, and fashion, running past midnight.
This is inventive street-food country. Flame-torched beef cubes, cheese potatoes, giant chicken cutlets, and the sausage-wrapped-in-sticky-rice combo that Taichung claims as its own. The catch is access: no MRT stops at the door, so budget for a bus or taxi and do not let that stop you.
