Why go
Hanxi is what happens when a night market gets a purpose-built venue: a big open lot with proper seating, parking, restrooms, and row after row of food and games. It runs four nights a week, the Google score is the best of our Taichung five, and the crowd is joyfully, overwhelmingly local.
Come hungry for the cheap stuff done well. Ten-dollar skewers, grilled squid, Dongshan duck head, crispy pork ribs, licorice guava on the way out. It is one of the best family night-market experiences in the region, provided you respect the Friday and Saturday crowds.

Where to find the top stalls
An open-lot market at the corner of Hanxi East Road Section 1 and Zhenxing Road, with more than 200 stalls and a paid parking lot. Guides give no stall numbers or rows, and many vendors keep their own days, so look for each stall's sign.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.
