This is the hidden-gem pick. Luzhou's market wraps around the Yonglian Temple, so you eat gua bao and scallion pancakes in the glow of an active place of worship, surrounded by neighbors doing their evening shopping. Almost no international tourists make it out here. Their loss.

The food is old-school and cheap: soup noodles, meatballs, tofu pudding, braised snacks. One honest warning, and it matters: scooters ride straight through the market lanes. Keep kids close and stay predictable when you stop to order.

Where to find the top stalls

The market centers on Yonglian Temple (湧蓮寺): a traditional market by day and a night market from evening, laid out as a cross of Desheng Street and Chenggong Road with side lanes. Several of the famous soup-noodle shops are daytime only.

Parking

A 2026 blog suggests Luzhou Elementary School Underground Parking (蘆洲國小地下停車場), about a 5 to 10 minute walk. Zhongshan Multi-storey Parking (中山立體停車場) is in the heart of the temple-front area, but it is an old mechanical car park with a 1.55 m height limit, so SUVs and vans cannot use it.
