Liuhe is Kaohsiung's famous name, the market on the postcards, and the honest read is this: it is the easiest market in the city, not the best one. It sits right at Formosa Boulevard station, the street is fully pedestrianized at night, and the seafood identity is real. For a first evening with a suitcase-tired family, easy counts.
The legendary papaya milk stand and the seafood congee are the anchors. Prices lean tourist and the ratings trail Ruifeng by a wide margin, so treat Liuhe as the convenient introduction and save Ruifeng for the night you want the full show.

Where to find the top stalls
Liuhe is one pedestrian street about 350 m long on Liuhe 2nd Road, with the Zhongshan Road entrance at one end and Zili 2nd Road at the other. Stalls are listed by Liuhe 2nd Road house number.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.

- Nearby car parks include 齊杉中山橫路停車場 (about 95 m), Jianguo Elementary School (建國國小停車場, about 100 m) and Times 高雄中正自立停車場 (about 150 m).
