Why go
Guanghua is where southern Taiwan's cooked-food tradition shows off: eel noodles, saltwater noodles, stir-fried cuttlefish, pork-heart vermicelli, eight-treasure ice. Many of the stalls are long-running family businesses, and the Google rating is unusually strong for a purely local street.
It looks less like an attraction and more like a very busy restaurant street, because that is what it is. Cars and scooters thread through the whole time, MRT access is inconvenient, and English menus are scarce. If food is your reason for coming to Kaohsiung, none of that will stop you.
Our tip: Point at what the next table is having. The long-running stalls survive on regulars, and the regulars order well.
