Why go
Hengchun's night market is the one the peninsula's own residents go to, and it happens only on Sunday evenings. Locals call it the shangzhan, the trade fair, and the range matches the name: smoked and cold lu wei, takoyaki in about 15 flavors, grilled skewers and cheap teppanyaki steaks, with stalls selling clothes and household goods between the food.
If your Kenting stay includes a Sunday, it is worth the 15 minute drive into Hengchun town: prices are aimed at locals rather than holidaymakers. Bring cash and come early, because the favorite stalls sell out.

Where to find the top stalls
The market fills the streets around Hengxi Road and Fude Road, spreading out from the open ground in front of Hengchun Christian Hospital; an older guide also places it around Tianhou Temple. Recent guides name stalls but give no stall numbers or positions, so look for the signs. For parking, the 2026 guide suggests the Hengchun Farmers' Association car park, the Hengchun post office car park or the area near Houdong Mountain Park.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.

Where: Inside the market. No source gives a position, so look for the sign and the queue. The 2026 guide recommends the rice blood cake, tempura and chicken tails. A 2021 guide calls it 無名烤肉 and suggests ordering as you arrive and collecting on your way out.
