Why go
Yansan is short for Yanping North Road, Section 3, and that is all there is to it: one stretch of road, stalls down both sides, and vendors who have been cooking the same dishes for thirty or forty years. No games, no souvenir shirts. This is old Taipei eating dinner.
The most famous order, tube rice pudding from Da Qiao Tou, a 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand pick, is a daytime shop on the same street that closes at 16:00, so come for lunch or plan around it. At night, start with meat-filled tangyuan from Shih Chia down the road. Chicken rolls, swordfish rice noodles, and fried large intestine cake fill in the gaps. If Ningxia is your favorite, this is its quieter neighbor.

Where to find the top stalls
Yansan has no central walking street and no market sign: stalls line both sides of busy Yanping North Road Section 3. The city market office lists stalls by the house number they stand in front of.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.

Where: A daytime shop at No. 41, Section 3, Yanping North Road (延平北路三段41號), on the market street. It closes before the night market opens, so go before 16:00.
Hours: 07:00 to 16:00. Closed Tuesdays.

高麗菜飯、原汁排骨湯
Where: No shop name: look for a banner reading 高麗菜飯、原汁排骨湯 on a plain metal-roofed building at the corner of Minquan West Road, No. 2, Lane 17, Section 3, Yanping North Road. It closes at 20:00, before the night market is busy.
Hours: 10:00 to 20:00, or until sold out. Closed Mondays.
