The quick read
Why go
Jingcheng is Changhua's favorite night market, with more than 14,000 Google reviews at an average of 4.4, among the best in central Taiwan. It fills a big stretch of open ground behind Jingcheng High School, with wide aisles and plenty of variety: queue-worthy sweet potato balls, steamed stinky tofu, charcoal-grilled chicken cutlets, chicken soup in little stew pots and Dongshan duck head.
It opens only five nights a week, Wednesday to Sunday, and it is a fair way from Changhua Station, close to half an hour on foot, so most people take a taxi. If you are traveling through central Taiwan by train and stopping a night in Changhua, or want a big market that is less of a crush than Taichung's, it is well worth the ride.

Where to find the top stalls
The market sits on open ground behind Jingcheng High School, at No. 162 Linsen Road; it moved there from Linsen Road itself to grow (NOWnews, 2024). Our recent sources name the popular stalls but give no stall numbers or positions, so look for the signs.
Night-market stalls rarely have their own address. We describe each position only as our dated sources state it. If you cannot see it, show the sign text to a vendor nearby. Stalls move and hours change, so check before a special trip.
